Has anyone else noticed that the solid subframe bushings from a Fiero fits our subframe/cradle perfectly?
I've been going through some trial and error and finally nailed what I can replace my subframe bushings with. This will apply to all 86-99 h-bodies.
Stock replacement wasnt an option because:
Study parts 2, 3, 5, 6 and 9. they are named:
4 and 9-Lower bushing
The spacer and retainer can be salvaged and re-used. GM carries them for about 20 bucks each as well so dont throw out these out.
There is also a small ring that isnt shown in the blow up. Not re-using them will be fine as they tend to deteriorate and cannot be purchased from GM.

Its been tried and tested with S-10 bushings, but buying 1 set only comes with 4 of the 6 required sets of bushings, thus making you have to buy 2 sets = expensive, unless you can find cheap used ones. The two smaller circular bushings on the right cannot be used anywhere on the Ts subframe.
This is the S-10 bushing pictured on the H-bodys subframe. The sliver of red on the right is because the shape of the S-10 throat is circular instead of the OEM oval shape.
They do fit the Spacer and Retainer perfectly, but putting all 6 with the gap mentioned above could potentially create problems with forward and backward movement under acceleration and braking.
Short form of the above is to put a steel shim in the gap. I didnt want to do this because its such a small sliver of metal, and would probably explode from the earth shattering power of a stock 3.8, let alone the ungodly torque of an L67.
I stumbled across some 1984 - 1987 Fiero pictures for what ever reason and noticed the rear subframe bushing holes looked similar to ours.
So I tried a set of poly bushing from a 84-87 Fiero. Here is the poly Fiero bushing that I bought to check to make sure they fit the subframe opening, and it is perfect. but the throat isnt metal. Not the end of the world.
Here is the deal breaker.
Fiero on left and S-10 on the right. S-10 height is same as stock.
The Fiero poly assembly ends up being too tall with the Spacer on top. You wouldnt be able to engage the bolt fully because of the Buicks 1" thick sheet metal frame rail.

You could probably make use of Fiero Spacer that wrap around the upper bushing, but you'd need to find 3 Fieros to pull them from being that the Fiero only uses 2 mounts like this.
You would need to be at baller status to buy new Fireo Spacers from the dealer.
Now knowing that these Fiero poly bushings match the subframe holes, I continued to look and found some Fiero solid aluminum bushings. These solid bushings do not require you to use the Spacer and Retainer. And since the Fiero Subframe Bolts are the same length as the H-Bodys, I was pretty certain that this was the real deal.

These are sold to the fiero crowd in a kit with two other unusable bushings, which aren't usable on the Buick anywhere. I contacted Rod via email, and asked if I could purchase 6 sets of these only, and he accommodated me without hesitation. 150 plus shipping beats the 500 bucks for new dirty old used NOS OEM bushings.
Here is the only interference. The two front bushings do not seat 100% properly because it rubs on the inside.
nothing 5 minutes on the angle grinder couldnt solve.
Here it is seating nicely.
Here is the underside of the rears which did not require any modifications.
No Spacers or Washer are required for the solid units. This will definitely transfer a lot more road vibrations and might not be recommended for daily drivers. But for those race inspired owners, this is for you!
