Not really a How-To here but just an observation. When replacing rotors on my friend Kim's 2010 (IIRC) Mazda 3, I was frankly astonished by how much effort it took to get the old rotors off. I tried every tool I had, but in the end the only thing that worked was to use a really big hammer and hit the rotors so hard that I split the hats off. Scary stuff, so I figured it was journal-worthy.

Justins Mazda 3 has the same issue. Brad and a 5lbs sledge couldnt move it. We went out and bought a 10lbs sledge, and the only man strong enough to wield it in the awkward position and remove it, was Brad. The top hat didnt explode though, thats just crazy. Justins wheel bearings did fail a few months later... - ripcurl August 8th 2014
